SKH VIDEOS- RECORDING EXPERIENCE

 

As I told before, first I started experimenting with the still photography of the serial,along with Audio recordings in my father's cassette to cassette tape recorder.

My cousin Debraj Gupta suggested Video recording,but I was actually Dumb to that matter,how to do it all.At that time I had no camera or computer.So I asked a local Digital Studio to record those things . They told it was possible and if I place the order they will give the output on CD.

Each episode they charged Rs. 350/The Idea of CD I didn't have at all.

The first order I placed for the episode "MAYAKAAL KA ANTH" in 2003 February I remember. I was really very tensed that the episode might be the ending of Vikraal series.So anyhow I had to have captured it.On the very Friday of MAYAKAAL KA ANTH,I was getting tensed of power cut .But the recording went on very smoothly at the Digital house. On Saturday morning We received phone call from them.My Mom gave the money and collected it.

But hopefully it was not the ending,the highlight of CHAMPAK CHIDIYA exalted us.I was happy that I could be able to continue recording.But Rs. 350/- was too much for us to continue with.Then my mom found out another recorder in our locality.He was Manas Das( Habu kaku) who was previously known to my mother. He had a Studio named ESSAM where I started to placing order for Rs 200/- each episode but after a few weeks.

The next episode I ordered to be recorded was PRETO KA PEYALA. At that time we captured analogue signals with some grains on the videos. It was really tough to guess the scenes and theme of the episode from highlight and Promo shown on Star Plus. To save pocket money for specially attractive episodes thus became a responsibility for me.

My father had a lot of interest in these things and he was so enthusiastic to find out the repeat telecast of the serial on Sunday morning 4.30 am by surfing channels almost through the whole night without sleeping.

My parents always went out of their ways to support my Fanatic Ventures.Thus I started my journey of video recording of Vikraal series.

After PRETO KA PEYALA came the DRACULA SERIES.I watched DRACULA 1 VERY SMOOTHLY AND COULD NOT GUESS WHAT WAS GOING TO HAPPEN NEXT WEEK. On DRACULA 2 I GOT TO ENJOY LILY VIKRAAL HUG SCENE. I WAS SO SPELLBOUND AND EMOTIONAL AT THAT MOMENT THAT I MISSED TO CAPTURE THE SCENE ON MY STILL CAMERA. BUT THE AUDIO RECORDING WENT ON.

At that night I placed order for DRACULA 2 to be captured on Sunday morning.That was very risky because we didn't have any second time option in hand.The recorder Suman Da remained awake throughout the night and started recording at perfect time but at 5 am there was power cut and the hug scene could not be recorded. I was very disappointed but at my home I was able to take the still only. 

Then I placed order for DRACULA 3. And after a few recordings I met Habu kaku and started working with him.Thus in a very fanatic way my Recording experience was going on.

Later when My father gifted me a computer I put TV tuner card in it. In 2006-2007 repeat of SKH on Star utsav started.But it could not be watched on normal cable connection. My father bought TATA SKY DISH ANTENNA FOR ME. I captured almost all the episodes at that time including my hot favourite DRACULA 2 AND SWAMI ANTARYAMI EPISODE. Some were missed out which I collected from YouTube and Starclassic later on 2010-2012.

NOW I HAVE A PILE OF CDs and DVDs COLLECTED FROM TV AND INTERNET.SOME OF THEM ARE SHOWN IN THE PICTURE.
